These are our top 3 favorite smoothie recipes. With the added bonus that all three are super easy to make in only minutes.

Banana and Oat Breakfast Smoothie

Prep: 2 mins

Difficulty: Easy

Serves: 2

At less than 160 kcal and under 3g of fat this easy to make smoothie will set you up for the morning with oats for slow release fuel. This recipe uses milk but, can substitute this for Almond, rice or soy milk if you want a dairy free option.

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 tbsp porridge oats
  • 80g soft fruit (whatever you have – strawberries, blueberries, raspberries etc)
  • 150ml milk
  • 1tsp honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients into a blender and blend for approx. 1 min or until smooth.
  2. Pour into two glasses and serve.

Sweet Green Smoothie

Prep: 4 mins

Difficulty: Easy

Serves: 1

This nutrient packed smoothie is packed with great ingredients such as spinach, flaxseeds and banana. At only 330kcal it is another great day starter. This recipe uses milk but, can substitute this for Almond, rice or soy milk if you want a dairy free option.

Ingredients:

250ml milk

1 tbsp ground flaxseed

1 tsp maca powder (optional)

pinch ground cinnamon

1 medjool date, stoned

1 small ripe banana

handful kale or spinach

1 tbsp almond butter

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients into a blender and blend for approx. 1 min or until smooth.
  2. Pour into a glass and serve.

Avocado and Strawberry Smoothie

Prep: 4 mins

Difficulty: Easy

Serves: 2

A delicious creamy smoothie that is high in calcium and low in calories (less than 200). This recipe uses milk but, can substitute this for Almond, rice or soy milk if you want a dairy free option.

Ingredients:

½ avocado, stoned, peeled and cut into chunks

150g strawberries.

4 tbsp low-fat natural yogurt

200ml semi-skimmed milk

lemon or lime juice, to taste

honey, to taste

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients into a blender and blend for approx. 1 min or until smooth.
  2. Pour into two glasses and serve.
